Chandigarh got the better of West Bengal by a solitary goal to open their campaign on a winning note in the final round of the 36th Coca Cola sub-Junior National Football Championship, here today.

The first half was keenly contested as Chandigarh took the lead in the 16th minute through Udeyveer Singh.

Chandigarh went defensive in the second session but held the lead even though their opponents tried their best to find an equaliser.

West Bengal, who lost their opening match to Goa, are still to open their account after two matches.
