A giant amusement park on the lines of 'Essel World' in Mumbai is likely to come up in Uttar Pradesh as industrialist Subhash Chandra has indicated his company's desire to invest in such projects.

Chandra, chairman of the Essel Group, today met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and SP supremo Mulayam Singh and discussed investment plans of the company in the state.

The Essel Group had signed MoUs of Rs 10,000 crore during the last year's investment conclave and has already completed works worth Rs 1,500 crore. The remaining Rs 8,500 crore would be invested very soon, he said.

"We are an over Rs one lakh crore company and presently engaged in some power transmission lines, infrastructure, river

front development, solar, Agra-Lucknow expressway-related development projects, among other projects in UP. A project even bigger than 'Essel World' would be set up in the state. We are committed to investing in a big way in UP," Chandra said.

The chief minister termed the discussions with Chandra today as "very positive".

The meeting was also attended by former SP leader Amar Singh besides senior bureaucrats.
