: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today asked farmers to go for value added products to ensure proper price for farm products and agricultural growth.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone of Thejaswani Coconut Farmers Producer Company here, he said production of value added products is the solution to ensure good price for farm products. Support price and subsidy were needed to help farmers, but they would only provide temporary relief,he said.
The government would extend all help to farmers in their ventures for value added products, he said.
In this regard, government was able to start production of neera drinks after overcoming several difficulties. The first unit producing neera has been started at Thevalakkara, Kollam, he said.
