A Rs 65 crore KSRTC bus terminal-cum-shopping complex was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here today.
A joint project of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and Kerala Transport Development and Finance Corporation (KTDFC) started in March 2009, the complex is housed in 14-storey twin towers and spread over 3.5 lakh square feet area approximately.
The terminal has the capacity to accommodate 40 buses at a time.

At the function, Chandy said action would be taken to clear pension due to KSRTC workers for April and May this year, adding, from June, pension would be disbursed on fifth of every month.
Meanwhile, LDF legislators and other functionaries boycotted the inaugural ceremony in protest against the transport minister's office finalising the event allegedly without informing them.
A section of the KSRTC employees also boycotted the function alleging that the authorities were turning a blind eye towards their demands, including dormitory, canteen and vehicle parking facilities for them.
