Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will be inaugurating the Infopark's Phase II campus on Wednesday, giving a major boost to the state's emergence as a global IT hub.
The ambitious Rs 2,500 crore phase II project is aimed at creating eight million square feet futuristic work space for IT, ITeS companies and generating about 80,000 job opportunities.
The Chief Minister will dedicate the campus to the state in the presence of Minister for IT and Industries P K Kunhalikutty and Leader of the Opposition V S Achuthanandan at the inaugural ceremony.

The Phase II project, spread across 160 acres, is envisioned as a walk-to-work township project, which includes facilities like hotels, shopping malls, international school, multiplexes and convention centres.
It will also have facilities like eco-friendly green park, water treatment plant and sewage treatment plant.
Infopark has joined hands with several global IT companies and infrastructure developers like Cognizant Technologies, UST Global, Trans Asia, Muthoot Group, Media Systems, Claysys Technologies, Caspian Techparks and Padiyath Innovation for phase II development.
Around 60 per cent of the land in the second phase has been leased out to IT, ITeS companies and co-developers.
