Changes brought in vehicle driving on highways in Haryana

To ensure safety of commuters, the Haryana government today made some amendments in its notification regarding driving of vehicles on highways having six lanes or more.

In case of six lanes highways, light motor vehicles will be driven on the right side lane, two wheelers and three wheelers on the left side (outer most lane) and light (goods), medium and heavy (passengers and goods) vehicles will be driven in the central lane, Transport Department Principal Secretary Hardeep Kumar said.

He said in case of more than six lane highways, light motor vehicles (passenger) would be driven on the second right lane, two wheelers and three wheelers on the left side (outer most) lane and light (goods), medium and heavy (passengers and goods) vehicles in the second left lane and the outer most right lane would be for overtaking.
