The Electronic Media Forum Assam (EMFA) today expressed concern over the Jorhat district Deputy Commissioner's reported order preventing media persons from entering into his office without prior permission even as the DC claimed he has not prohibited anyone's entry.
"Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Solanki Vishal Vasant has behaved like a feudal lord disregarding the spirit of the Indian constitution", alleged the Forum's office bearers Nava Thakuria, Bimal Ghosh, Bhaskarjyoti Bhuyan in a press release.
The EMFA appealed to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, also in charge of home portfolio, to take necessary initiatives at the earliest to withdraw the 'order' of the Jorhat DC against media persons on duty.

The forum also took notes that some touts pretending to be scribes are allegedly creating nuisance in Jorhat DC office.
The EMFA urged the local journalists to help the authority to identity those touts and book them under the respective laws.
