Properly channelising energies of the youth and inspiring them for nation building is the first and foremost responsibility of higher education institutions in the country, Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul today said.
"In just a few years, India will have the largest young population in the world. This large human capital of around 50 crore youths can contribute greatly to nation building if their energies are properly channelised," Paul said addressing the foundation day function of Swamiram Himalayan University here.
Asking institutions of higher education to inculcate the habit of constructive thinking among students, he said, "They should be encouraged in their quest to unearth the hidden and experience the joy of discovering the unknown. They have to be trained to possess a universal mindset to enable them to interact with their peers in a globalised world."
