Punjab Opposition leader Charanjit Singh Channi today hit out at the ruling SAD government of neglecting the sacred Sri Chamkaur Sahib area, by stalling projects started by previous Congress regime.
Channi, Leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Assembly, who paid his obeisance at the Sri KatalGarh Sahib in Sri Chamkaur Sahib during the Saheedi Jor Mela today, said the ruling Akalis had stopped the work of a theme park in the memory of Sahibzada Ajit Singh ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh ji here.
A foundation stone was placed for the theme park in the memory of 'Sahibzadas' (sons) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh- Sahibzada Ajit Singh ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh ji, by the former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, he said.

"Till now they have left the project hanging in air. This is the way they treat our Gurus and call themselves a Panthic Party," he said.
Just because the local MLA is from the Congress party and Capt Amarinder Singh then Chief minister inaugurated the theme park, the Akali government stalled the project there and then, he further said.
Channi said that the religious hub of Sri Chamkaur Sahib was being totally neglected by the ruling party.
The road network in the constituency is in very bad shape. There are no development funds pouring in the constituency for the last nine years, he said.
He alleged that Parkash Singh Badal only concentrated on his home constituency Lambi.
The sports stadium, education network, road network, development of villages, that Badal has taken to his constituency, cannot be compared with any other constituency of the state, Channi said.
Meanwhile, the Congress leader also appealed the people to remember the supreme sacrifices made by the Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, who laid their lives while fighting with Mughals.
The people should live in peace and harmony. The people across the globe should be made more aware about the Sikh religion, he opined.
Channi said that this was the day when the whole humanity remembers the supreme sacrifice done by the Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji, by organizing Akhand Paths and Ardas.
