The movie was co-produced by Tatum and is inspired by the actor's life turn as a stripper.
"We are doing the Broadway version of 'Magic Mike'," Tatum said.
But the 32-year-old, who is heavily involved in bringing the story to the stage, is not sure if he will star in it.
"I don't think anybody wants to see me sing. Give me some time to work on it and then maybe."
Also there are plans for a sequel to the film.
"Hopefully we're gonna go to Miami and do the whole thing," Tatum said of filming a follow-up film.
