Actor Channing Tatum is set to star in an adaptation of Joe Haldeman's 1974 sci-fi novel "The Forever War".
Tatum, 35, will be the leading actor in the film which has been in the works for years.
Based on Haldeman's own experiences in the Vietnam War, the movie centers on a young man, named William Mandella, who is conscripted into a military task force during a war against an alien species named the Taurans.

Roy Lee will also produce the movie along with Tatum, while John Spaihts, who wrote "Prometheus", is on board to write the script.
