Chaos reigns supreme at Brazil masters' media meet

With the media accreditation cards not ready till late hours, many outstation journalists were seen engaged in heated arguments with the organisers of the event, described as a great spectacle by state sports minister Madan Mitra.

There was also a total mismanagement during the press interaction of the Brazilian Masters team as Mitra tried to steal the show sitting in the middle trying to garner the maximum footage from the electronic mediapersons as likes of Dunga and Aldair were confined to the sidelines.

The sports minister even exposed his 'great knowledge' about football as he declared India's FIFA ranking as 146 inviting hige round of sarcastic laughter from the mediapersons.

"Having seen Messi in action here, we expected something big. But it's complete chaos. Nobody knows anything. The organisers are incommunicado. God knows what will happen to the tomorrow's match," a jouranalist, who had come to cover the event from Pune seemed frustrated.

Even the timing of the match was not clear as the organisers, Omnibus, could not be contacted over phone.

Repeated attempts made to Omnibus director Satadru Dutta went in vain.

Going by the mood, there is a possibility that the turn-out will be very poor on Saturday.

The organisers even had reduced the ticket prices of the match but little was communicated about the availability of the tickets. To pull more crowd, the organisers may also open the gates midway into the match tomorrow.

Earlier, all the star players trained at the stadium for about an hour with special focus on dead-ball situations.

"It's a long time that we played together. So we are eagerly looking forward to the match. We thank the organisers for hosting us here," Dunga said. MORE
