'Chaos Walking' to get major reshoots

"Chaos Walking", starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland, will be undergoing major reshoots with novelist Patrick Ness is talks to pen fresh script pages for the film.

The film is based on Ness' first book in the series, "The Knife Of Never Letting Go".

Directed by Doug Liman, it follows a teen named Todd (Holland) who has been raised believing that a viral germ has wiped out all the women in his dystopian world, while also giving all the men the ability to read people's minds.

However, when Todd finally meets a young woman named Viola (Ridley) the pair go on to encounter various moral issues and high stakes as the planet around them erupts into war.

 

The reshoots will likely affect the March 1, 2019 release date of the film, as both Holland and Ridley are busy with "Spider-Man: Homecoming" sequel and "Star Wars: Episode IX" respectively.

Charlie Kaufman, Gary Spinelli, John Lee Hancock and Lindsey Beer, and others have written various draft of the film, and

Liman is looking at two to three weeks' worth of new shooting time.
