Charge sheet against J-K cop for duping youths with job offers

The Jammu and Kashmir crime branch today filed a charge sheet in the CJM's court here against a policeman accused of duping youths on pretext of providing them government jobs.

The charge sheet was filed after selection grade constable Kuldeep Kumar was found involved in the case in a preliminary inquiry, an official spokesperson said.

The victims had alleged they had paid Rs 1 lakh each to Kuldeep who had promised to get them jobs of driver in the government departments, prompting the crime branch to start a probe in the matter, the official said.

During probe, it was found that Kuldeep took a total of Rs 4.1 lakh from the youths, he said.
 

The next hearing of the case has been fixed on July 25.
