Police today filed a charge-sheet against four accused who were allegedly involved in the gang rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl in January this year in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A girl was kidnapped from outside her house in Katra town on January 25, and few days later her body was found hidden under bushes near the Katra bus stand, SSP Reasi Sujit Kumar said.
He said a case was registered at Katra police station and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by the Additional Superintendent of Police was constituted to probe the case.

He said that during sustained interrogation the accused confessed to the crime besides disclosing the names of three other accomplices who were involved in the gang rape and murder of the girl.
The other three were identified as Madan Lal (25), Rajinder Kumar (26) and Parshad Singh (25) years, he said.
"The SIT raided their various hideouts and arrested them," Kumar said.
He said that the deceased was apparently repeatedly gang raped after being kidnapped and subsequently murdered by the accused.
"A maruti alto car used for the crime was also recovered by the police.
"The trail of the car used in the commission of crime led the SIT to Himachal Pradesh where another murder case was solved as it was found that Pawan Kumar and Parshad Singh were also involved in murder of a taxi driver Vijay Kumar of Himachal Pradesh", he said
Kumar said that all the four accused are hardened, dreaded criminals and have previously also committed many heinous crimes and have been jailed also.
"The accused used to operate as a gang for committing crimes and nabbing all these criminals will go a long way in decreasing the crime graph of the area", he said, adding "the charge sheet of the case has been produced before the court of Sub-Judge Katra against all the four accused.
