Charges were framed against BJP MLA Vikram Singh Saini and 27 other accused by a sessions court in connection with violence in Kawal in 2013, here today.
Additional district sessions judge Himanshu Bhatnagar framed charges under various sections of the IPC including 307 (attempt to murder) against 28 persons and fixed October 5 as the next date of hearing.
All the 28 accused, including Khatauli MLA Saini, were present in the court.
According to the prosecution, the police registered a case against 28 people in connection with violence at Kawal village under Jansath police station in the district in August 2013.
Tension had prevailed over the killing three youths belonging to different communities at Kawal in 2013.
