Sukesh Chandrashekhar, arrested for his alleged bid to bribe an Election Commission official on behalf of AIADMK (Amma) leader TTV Dhinakaran to secure 'two-leaves' symbol for the party, was charged with cheating in a seven-year-old case.
The charges against Chandrashekhar and his father were framed in the cheating case by a Coimbatore magisterial court before which the two were produced today.
Lodged in New Delhi's Tihar Jail following his arrest by the Delhi police, Chandrashekhar was brought here by train and produced before the magistrate.

Chandrashekhar reportedly called Rajavelu, a kitchen equipment dealer, stating that he was speaking from the Karnataka Chief Minister's Office and demanded Rs 2.50 lakh for sanctioning a tender he had submitted.
He received the amount from Rajavelu in instalments.
Based on the complaint by Rajavelu that Chandrashekhar had duped him of Rs.2.50 lakh on the promise of getting him the tender from the Karnataka government in 2010, the police arrested him and his father, a co-accused in the case.
The two were out on bail when Sukesh was arrested by Delhi Police. After his arrest, local police contacted the Delhi police and sought their help to bring him here.
Charges under various section of IPC including 420 (cheating) were framed against the two.
The copies of charge sheet running to 60 pages, were already given to them during last hearing on July six.
The magistrate posted the case for further hearing on August three.
Chandrashekhar was later taken to New Delhi by train.
