Chargesheet filed against two in ATM looting case

Police here have filed a chargesheet against two persons in connection with the 2014 Kithora loot case where miscreants looted cash of Rs 25 lakh by cutting ATM from gas cutter.

The chargesheets were filed yesterday against two of the six accused, Sardar Genrel Singh and Asif, police said.

An investigation against the other four, Govind, Harjit, Kulvant Singh and Amardeep Singh, is pending, they said.

According to the prosecution, the six accused cut open an automated teller machine (ATM) of Punjab National Bank and looted Rs 25 lakh from it at Kithora village under Mirapur police station here on October 11 last year.
 

Police said that after the name of the six miscreants came to light, they arrested Sardar Genrel Singh and Asif.

Of the other four, three are in Agra Central Jail while one is incarcerated in Rajasthan jail, police said, adding that all accused were found involved of looting ATMs in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.
