Police today filed a chargesheet in four illegal granite quarrying cases before the judicial magistrate here.
According to the chargesheet filed against the four firms, including PRP Granites, the government had lost Rs 84.16 crore revenue due to illegal quarrying carried out by them.
The granite scam had come to the fore after then District Collector U Sagayam in a report in May 2012 pegged the loss to the exchequer due to illegal granite quarrying in the district at about Rs 16,000 crore.
