British actor Charlie Hunnam initially turned down the lead role in the upcoming 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' movie before changing his mind.

The 'Sons of Anarchy' star is preparing to play Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of EL James' best-selling erotic novel, but he has now revealed he passed on the role when it was first offered to him, reported Huffington Post.

"I went and read the first book to get a clearer idea of who this character was and felt even more excited about the prospect of bringing him to life," Hunnam said.

"But there was a bit of a timing issue where I just wanted to insure (sic) that I was going to have enough time to really do the preparation so I can bring this guy to life and do him justice and when they decided to push the schedule to accommodate that then I was a no-brainer and I was in," he added.
