India's Vaidehi Chaudhuri blanked fourth seed from Thailand, Manchaya Sawangkaew, to enter the girls singles quarterfinals of the DKS ITF Juniors 2017 at Dakshin Kalikata Sansad courts here today.
Chaudhuri looked confident from the very beginning as she overpowered the 4th seed and at the same time displayed high level of patience during long rallies. She whitewashed Sawangkaew by just conceding one game in the entire match.
Bengal's only hope, Yubrani Banerjee gave the local audience a reason to cheer as she breezed past Korea's Eunji Oh, seeded 6, with a 6-3,6-1 in exact 1 hour.

The opening set saw a continues hold of serves till 6-6, where Naow got lucky and grabbed the tie breaker by 7-4. In the second, Naow pocketed an early break to take a lead of 3-1 but got broken right after, levelling the set yet again to 6-6. Here, Naow got the better of Chawla as the Delhi Grade 2 semi finalist won by 7-6(4), 7-6(5) in 1hr 55min.
