Three bike borne assailants have allegedly shot dead a medical shop owner near Raj Talkies intersection in the district, police said here today.
On the pretext of purchasing some medicines they fired two bullets and shot dead Vivek Singhal on the spot last night, SHO Modi Nagar Deepak Sharma said.
All of them fled the scene on the motorcycle.
In protest, local shopkeepers downed their shutter.
Four police teams have been formed to work out the case, the SHO said, adding several possible hide outs of the assailants have been raided.
An FIR has been registered at Modinagar police station.
