The old Kamaraj Domestic and Anna International terminals will be rebuilt on a par with ultra modern structures at a cost of about Rs 1000 crore, a top AAI official said today.
"We have decided to upgrade the old terminals through reconstruction and these will be merged with new ones," Airports Authority of India Chairman R K Srivastava told reporters here.
The to-be built facility will be linked with the terminals commissioned three years ago, he added.

Member (Planning) S Raheja said structural issues with terminals commissioned in 2013 will be rectified during the construction of new terminals.
Collapsing glass ceilings was among the major issues confronted by the authorities in the new terminals.
The new structures would be integrated with the terminals already opened in 2013 and movement for passengers will be seamless in and out of these facilities, they said.
