Chennai-bound Oman Air flight makes emergency landing in Goa

A Chennai-bound Oman Air flight from Muscat today made an emergency landing at Goa International airport in Dabolim after a woman passenger was taken ill.

"There was (an) emergency landing due to a medical reason at 7 AM today. Oman Airway's flight that was flying to Chennai from Muscat had a woman passenger who reported sick mid-air," Dabolim Airport director, Bhupesh Negi told PTI.

The passengerwas later declared dead by doctors, he said.

The flight later took off to its scheduled journey.

Meanwhile, Goa Police, which lodged a case in this regard, said the woman passenger was referred to government- run Cottage Hospital at Chicalim, near the airport.
 

"She was declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital," a police official said.

Details of the passenger were awaited.
