Pop star Cheryl Cole has been issued a front page apology by magazine bosses who have admitted to printing a false story about the Girls Aloud star.
The 29-year-old singer was said to have become involved in a secret romance with 33-year-old 'So Solid Crew' rapper MC Harvey by Now magazine, prompting a Twitter war between the pair when the story broke last year, reported Daily Mail.
The magazine has now issued a full apology to Cole in this week's issue, insisting claims of a relationship were not true.
The apology in this week's issue reads, "Sorry Cheryl. There was no romance with Harvey - we got it wrong.
"Although we have seen several hundred emails, written over a six-month period, apparently between Cheryl, her mother and Michael [Harvey], we are now satisfied that emails from Cheryl and her mother are not genuine. They appear to be the work of a calculated and meticulous hoaxer masquerading as Cheryl who went to great lengths to deceive Mr Harvey. We're sorry, Cheryl, for any embarrassment we have caused you."
