Thousands of soldiers with war fighting equipment of South Western Command's Chetak corps are engaged in intensive training in Mahajan field firing ranges of Rajasthan under exercise 'Gandiv Vijay'.

The exercise, which began two months ago, will conclude on May 23, a senior official said.

"The Chetak Corps of the Command are currently carrying out an exercise in the Mahajan field firing ranges close to Suratgarh to validate their operational plans for last two months," defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said.

The exercise involves multi-mode mobilisation from dispersed locations to the time and place of decision in a terrain orchestrated on the lines of operational responsibility of the formation.

"The participating formations will carry out synergistic employment of long-range vectors along with the infantry and mechanised forces and the air arm to achieve a decisive victory," he said.
