According to a government release, district collectors had been informed to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the government to hold the sabhas in all 20,000 villages that fall under 10,971 village panchayats.

The CM has appealed to all people, particularly residents of rural areas, to attend in large numbers the garm sabha meetings, beginning on the occasion of the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar.

As per the circular, sarpanches and gram panchayat secretary should attend the meetings where people's suggestions will be invited for their incorporation in the future developmental plans of panchayats.

It also said that officers and employees should be allotted special responsibility according to local needs.

The topics of discussion at the meetings would be: review of incomes, developmental works undertaken, revenue generated, sanctioned budget, expenditure, status of various developmental works.

There will be a review of toilets constructed as a part of the 'Swachhta' mission, employment provided under the NREGA and wages disbursed in the villages, besides social audits of pensions schemes, the release said.

Current status of various schemes concerning various sections of the society will also be discussed at these meetings.
