Chg govt to launch scheme promoting animal husbandry

The 'Pashudhan Mitra Yojana' (PSY) also aims at promoting breeding through artificial insemination of livestock and envisages setting up of veterinary hospitals at least in five municipal corporations of Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai, Durg and Rajnandgaon, official sources said today.

According to the sources, Chief Minister Raman Singh has given in-principle nod to the scheme, likely to be implemented from next financial year, costing Rs 55.68 lakh at a meeting of agriculture department yesterday.

Even for emergency cases, more mobile veterinary medial units would be introduced in 18 districts, in addition to 25 such medical units already being operational in the state.
