Two jawans of the elite CoBRA battalion of CRPF were injured in a Naxal attack in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh today, police said.
A CoBRA team had an encounter with suspected ultras in the same district on Friday night, in which eight villagers and a jawan were killed.
Today's incident took place when the 199 Battalion Cobra (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), a specialised unit of CRPF, was on a search operation in the border region of Dantewada and Bijapur districts in south Bastar.

"Security forces retaliated, which forced the Naxals to flee to the forest," a senior official said here.
The injured jawans - Lakshman Singh (22) and Chhabilal (24) - were airlifted to Raipur's MMI hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
