Chibber, a 1978-batch officer of Manipur-Tripura cadre, is presently Secretary in Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Defence Ministry.
The vacancy was necessitated following superannuation of present incumbent A K Upadhyay, a 1975-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, an official release said.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet also approved the appointment of Zohra Chatterji, IAS(UP:79), Special Secretary, Ministry of Coal, as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, it said.
The vacancy was caused following retirement of Kiran Dhingra, a 1975-batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, today.
The ACC has also temporarily upgraded post of Director in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, held by another senior IAS officer Padamvir Singh.
Singh, a 1977-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed in the rank and pay of Secretary, the release said. The post of Director, LBSNAA is of Additional Secretary rank.
LBSNAA is a premier institute of training for public service officials including IAS, IPS and IFS.
