Senior leaders P Chidambaram and Anand Sharma are part of a five-member high level group constituted by Congress President Sonia Gandhi to help formulate party stand on various issues in Parliament.
Former Ministers K V Thomas and Jairam Ramesh and former Youth Congress chief Rajeev Satav are other members of the group which has been tasked to meet at regular intervals especially during Parliament sessions, party sources said.
The group has been asked to examine all upcoming legislative business in Parliament-both government and private members bills and submit their recommendations to the Congress President and Congress Vice President for approval.

Besides, the group has been entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating with party MPs in various Parliamentary committees and ensure a coherent position is adopted during relevant meetings.
Based on the inputs of the group, the party leadership will decide the stand on legislative matters, the sources said.
