Scores of students from 20 private and government schools in the national capital will participate in a 'Race for Survival' here tomorrow, with the appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make child health the top priority among India's Sustainable Development Goals.

The race is being organised by 'Action 2015', a global campaign calling for ambitious decisions by countries for our future in 2015. The initiative is backed by UNICEF and Save the Children, an NGO working for child rights.

"Sunita Godara, Asian Marathon Champion, 1992 will flag off the race at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here tomorrow. The students will participate in the race to demand urgent action by decision makers to end preventable child deaths by 2030," an official release said.

"Children will send out a final appeal to the Prime Minister to make child health the top priority when he signs Sustainable Development Goals for the next 15 years at UN General Assembly in September 2015," it added.
