BJP supporters today took police by surprise as they reached Parliament Gate No 1 to stage a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Minsiter Shiela Dikshit and Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar in the wake of the brutal rape of a five-year-old girl.

Police had barricaded Pandit Pant Marg near Parliament House Complex but the BJP workers led by Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel took a different route near the office and reached the Rakabganj road opposite Parliament complex.

Around 200-250 protesters including BJP MLAs led by Delhi BJP Chief Vijay Goel staged a sit in protest near the barricade set-up near the Parliament Gate.

"We want the removal of the Chief Minister and the Delhi Police chief, since they should take up the moral responsibility for whatever happened" said Goel, during the demonstration.

The BJP also demanded death penalty for the rapists.

"When our government comes to power, we will make sure we provide security to all even the CMs daughter" said the BJP Chief.

Goel also slammed Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit, son of CM Shiela Dikshit saying that he is demanding the police commissioner's resignation to shield his mother.

Goel and his supporters were later detained by police.
