Gita, a native of Patna in Bihar, was apparently depressed as she failed to give birth to a child even after four years of her marriage resulting in tension with her husband, police said.
She had a fight with her husband over the issue last night following which she hanged herself in her house in Panki area.
The woman's parents, however, alleged that she was tortured repeatedly by her in-laws for dowry.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 20-year-old hawker, fed up of his prolonged illness, committed suicide by hanging himself in Sundar Nagar. PTI ZIR AGL
