About 50 students and 15 teachers from a Special School, here were taken onboard Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarathi and were given an opportunity to interact with officers and men.
The visit onboard Sarathi was organised on January 29 by Indian Coast Guard for special school children as a run up to the 40th raising day to be held tomorrow. "The children were presented with a visual treat which included aerial display by ICG helicopter and high speed maneuvers by the ship's boats."
"The visit included a walk around onboard the ship along with display of arms and ship's fire-fighting capabilities. The children also visited the aviation unit of ICG in Kochi, wherein they were shown the different ICG aircraft," according to a Navy release here.

The chief guest of the event was Commandant Naveen Rastogi, Commanding Officer, Coast Guard Ship Abhinav.
Volunteers from different fishermen community actively participated in the volley ball match.
The release said a number of events are being organised by the Coast Guard District Headquarters No 4 as a precursor to, and immediately after, the Coast Guard day on February 1 most of which are intended to reaffirm its social responsibility.
