Two children were taken ill after consuming sweet dish in Bajariya locality in Khalilabad police station area here, police said today.
The children aged 13 and nine years had consumed 'halwa' given to them by one of their neighbours yesterday following which they were taken ill and rushed to the district hospital where their condition is still critical, they said.
The mother of the children, Reena, said that after the death of her husband recently, one of their neighbours Harikant was eyeing their house and land.
She alleged that Harikant had sent the "poisonous" halwa to her children.
Police said efforts are on to arrest the neighbour.
