Chilli, coriander decline on subdued demand

Red chilli and coriander prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Red chilli and coriander prices declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 8,100-13,100 and Rs 10,000-17,500 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks position led to the fall in chilli and coriander prices.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 750-900, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,400-1,460 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,680.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 690-740, cardamom (colour robin) 670-730, cardamom bold 720-740, cardamom extra (bold) 890-940 and cloves (kg) 875-925.
