Chilli, coriander fall on subdued demand

Red chilli and coriander prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today amid subdued demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stocks.

Red chilli and coriander prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,600-12,600 and Rs 12,100-17,100 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks mainly pulled down chilli and coriander prices.

Following are today's quotations:

Ajwain (per kg) 160-210, black pepper (per kg) 770-950, betel-nut (kg) 270-320, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,650-1,680 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,870.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 780-850, cardamom (colour robin) 680-700, cardamom bold 720-740, cardamom extra (bold) 920-940 and cloves 720-820.
