Chilli, coriander falls on subdued demand

Red chilli and coriander prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stocks.

Red chilli and coriander prices were down by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,200-12,200 and Rs 11,900-16,900 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and coriander prices.

Following are today's quotations:

Ajwain (per kg) 165-215, black pepper (per kg) 775-955, betel-nut (kg) 285-335, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,700-1,750 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,900.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 790-860, cardamom (colour robin) 730-760, cardamom bold 760-810, cardamom extra (bold) 960-990 and cloves 720-820.
