Chilli, jeera weaken on subdued demand

Red chilli and jeera prices fell Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Red chilli prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 7,900-12,400 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 10,800-10,900 and Rs 13,200-13,700 per quintal.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 700-900, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,300-1,330 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,400-1,500.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-730, cardamom (colour robin) 660-700, cardamom bold 690-735, cardamom extra (bold) 880-930 and cloves (kg) 920-1,020.
