Chilli teja prices were up by 2.59 per cent to Rs 12,350 per quintal in futures trade today amid fall in supplies from producing regions and pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli teja for delivery in October jumped by Rs 312, or 2.59 per cent, to Rs 12,350 per quintal with an open interest of 155 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September shot up by Rs 210, or 1.99 per cent, to Rs 10,760 per quintal in 655 lots.
Analysts said besides tight supplies from producing belts, pick up in demand in the spot markets, pushed up chilli teja prices.
