Cold wave conditions intensified across Odisha on Sunday with Sonepur turning out to be the coldest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius.
The mercury plummeted below 10 degrees Celsius in at least 13 places and cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of the state for the next two days, the Meteorological Centre here said.
Sonepur was closely followed by Phulbani, which recorded a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.
The mercury stood at 6 degrees Celsius in Angul, 6.5 degrees Celsius in Titlagarh, 7.2 degrees Celsius in Daringbadi, 8.4 degrees Celsius at Jharsuguda, 8.8 degrees Celsius at Keonjhar, 9 degrees Celsius in Koraput, Bolangir and Sambalpur, 9.3 degrees Celsius at Bhawanipatna, 9.5 degree in Sundargarh and 9.8 degree Celsius in Balasore, it said.
While state capital Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius, the mercury stood at 10.2 degrees Celsius in 'Silver City' Cuttack.
