Chilly weather condition prevailed in Sikkim today with Gantok being the coldest place in the state.

The higher altitude areas continued to receive snowfall even as a thick fog enveloped Gangtok and other towns during the day with the sun hiding behind cloud.

Gangtok was the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of 5.7 degree Celsius followed by Gyalshing in West district at 7.1, Mangan in North district at 7.5 and Namchi in South district recording a minimum of 8.2 degree Celsius.

The Meteorological Centre has in a bulletin forecast light rain/thundershower/snow (in higher altitude areas) over next two days.
