Condemning the deadly terrorist attack in Lahore, China today said it stands by Pakistan even as it extended support to its close ally in the fight against terrorism.
China is "greatly shocked by" and "condemns the brutal attack in the strongest possible terms," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Hong Lei told a media briefing here.
He also expressed condolences for the victims and their families.
"We are standing together with Pakistani people at such a hard time. China will provide firm support for the Pakistani government and people to fight terrorism and maintain the country's stability and safety," Hong said, a day after 72 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at an Easter gathering in Lahore.
