Police in a south Chinese city have expelled eight Vietnamese who entered China without legal documents.

The eight people were stopped in the city of Liuzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region when they failed to present any identification during a routine check.

The illegal immigrants, who came from Vietnam's Cao Bang Province, moved across the border on March 6 and went to work in Guangdong province, according to report by state-run Xinhua news agency.
