US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Friday that China and India are among the countries where a lot of improvement is required on the environmental front.
Speaking here at the WEF 2020, he said there is no question that environmental issues impact the economy also, but there are also health and security issues that are very important for an economy.
"We are not trying to minimise the importance of climate issues."
There are way too many people in developing world without access to electricity and we need to keep that in mind too and will do things to improve the situation for a true sustainable growth, he said.
