The Canton fair, one of China's largest trade fairs, attracted over 1.80 lakh buyers raking up export turnover of USD 28 billion, an official said today.

The number of buyers went up 4.6 per cent from last year, and over 80,000 coming from Belt and Road (Silk road) countries, the fair's spokesperson Xu was quoted as saying by sate-run Xinhua news agency.

The export turnover reached nearly USD 28 billion, up 3.2 per cent, Xu said.

The fair, held in southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, concluded today.

Export turnover with Silk road countries is now more than USD eight billion, nearly 30 per cent of total transaction volume, Xu said, adding that buyers have become less sensitive to price while caring more about product quality and services.

The China Import and Export Fair, held every spring and autumn seasons in Guangzhou, is seen as a barometer of China's exports.
