China will get its fifth Madame Tussauds wax museum this summer in the southwestern municipality of Chongqing, authorities said today.

Wax figures of Prince William and his wife Kate have been displayed since last week in the city as a promotion for the upcoming museum, that will have sections devoted to Hollywood stars, sportsmen and women and celebrities from around the world, they said.

Chongqing is China's largest municipality.

With a history of over 200 years, Madame Tussauds has already opened in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan, with statues of celebrities including Jackie Chan, Yao Ming, Bill Gates and David Beckham, state-run Xinhua reported.

The museum is being built by Britain's Merlin Entertainment Group, which also plans to open an aquarium and a Lego adventure park in the city.
