After the approval of investment for 'Sino-Indian Industrial Park' by the union cabinet, the Ambassador of China Wei Wei met Gujarat Chief Minster Anandi Patel here today and invited her to visit China.

"The Ambassador of China Wei Wei paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel to strenghten ties between India and China," a Gujarat government press release said.

Wei showed enthusiasm about investment in Gujarat, especially in green energy parks.

"The Ambassador of China showed a keen interest in Gujarat's progess in the energy sector and stressed that some Chinese companies wish to invest in green energy parks in the state," the press release stated.

The development comes after the central government approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and China to set up industrial parks across the country.

After Anandi Patel informed the Ambassador of China about the 'Statue of Unity', Sardar Sarovar and Dahej-Ghogha ferry service projects, the envoy showed interest in co-operating with Gujarat on these projects.

Last month, an investors' delegation of 20 members from China had visited Gujarat and shortlisted three locations to set up a Chinese township and industrial park at Sachana, Dalsana and Jakhwada villages near Sanand town of Ahmedabad.
