A Chinese couple was held with 112 kgs of prohibited red sanders by customs officials at Sanganer airport here, officials said today.
"The couple was carrying six bags full of beads made of red sanders weighing 112 kgs in all which were detected during the check yesterday," Deputy Commissioner of Customs H S Meena said.
They were about to take a flight for Muscat from the Sanganer airport but were detained, he said, adding that the beads have been seized and the couple is being interrogated with the help of a language expert.
